Spring is in the Air!

[Beautiful spring view from the Vmeals office.]

Spring may have begun "officially" a few weeks ago, but with the glorious weather, flowers in bloom and holiday weekend (long weekend for many, judging by the parking lot at outside my window) - I think spring fever has hit - at least in the Vmeals office.

I an effort to keep people engaged and not wandering off to take a nap in the grass, we conducted a quick "best of spring" survey around the office. Here's a little peek into the lives of the Vmeals team.

How do you know it is really spring?
  • The daffodils and tulips around my mailbox bloom and my husband starts begging to take the motorcycle everywhere. ~Shayna, Atlanta Market Rep
  • In Chicago, people start wearing sandals without socks. ~Sarah, Chicago Market Rep
  • My car, porch, lawn, children are all covered in a brilliant yellow/green coat of pollen.~ Laura, Director of Operations
  • I have a spring in my step even though the allergies are attacking me …~ Dawn, Busines Manager
  • I hear the bull frogs croaking on the lake and the crickets chirp at night. ~ Heather, Northern Virginia Market Rep
What is the best thing about spring?
  • The dip in the utility bill when it’s warm enough not to need the heat and cool enough to leave the windows open. ~Ann, Customer Service
  • Heading to the lake, putting out the dock chairs, raking up a few lingering leaves from the fall, and jumping in that freezing cold water for the first time. ~Carter, Vmeals CEO
  • People start wearing sandals without socks (just kidding). The lake front in Chicago! Everything comes alive and everyone is friendly. ~Sarah, Chicago Market Rep
  • I can go play golf again. ~Eric, Baltimore Market Rep
  • Driving with the windows down and the music loud. ~ Molly, Sales and Marketing
What are you most looking forward to getting to do outside?
  • Jogging around the huge Pleasant Grove field while both boys participate in practice for travel soccer. It’s so calming. ~Mary Pat, Central Virginia Market Rep
  • Cooking and eating outside – everything tastes better charred and al fresco.~Ann, Customer Service
  • Golf, Dogwood festival in Atlanta, and riding with the top down on the convertible. ~Shayna, Atlanta Market Rep
  • Checking out some baseball. So much good baseball here in Charlottesville – UVA, Monticello HS, Cove Creek. ~Laura, Director of Operations
  • Walking the dogs on long evening walks with the Mrs. and little boy riding in the wagon.~Eric, Baltimore Market Rep
What is your favorite spring food?
  • Mozzarella & tomato & anything on the grill. ~ Heather, Northern Virginia Market Rep
  • Candy Coated Malted Easter Eggs – Whoppers Only. ~Mary Pat, Central Virginia Market Rep
  • Asparagus, rhubarb, and artichokes. ~Shayna, Atlanta Market Rep
  • Um, seriously – is food seasonal anymore? Oh wait, spring rolls! ~Laura, Director of Operations
  • Strawberry spinach salad.~Sarah, Chicago Market Rep
Best spring break memory?
  • Skiing In Sun Valley Idaho With A Group Of Girls – You could wear a light jacket it was so warm but the snow was fantastic. The music could be heard from the top of the chair lifts to the base. You’d have to indulge in a Jacuzzi every night from skiing all day so you could continue skiing day after day. I met and got a picture with Clint Eastwood. It made my day!~Mary Pat, Central Virginia Market Rep
  • I have no memory of my best spring break..~Ann, Customer Service
  • Florida with my family...getting roasted on the beach...building huge sand castles...body surfing in the waves...and hoping the days would never end...~Carter, Vmeals CEO
  • I loved my trips to San Francisco (two spring breaks) and to Florida where I landed with $200 in my pocket for a week’s stay. I was so broke on the way home that I couldn’t buy a diet coke. Thank goodness my bags flew for free back in the olden days. ~Laura, Director of Operations
  • Driving my VW bug from Charlottesville, VA to Melbourne FL. It would only start with a roll, so every stop for gas or food meant the other three girls had to get out, give it a running push while I popped the clutch and then jump back in. Can’t do that with modern cars! ~Molly, Sales and Marketing
What about you? What do you love best about spring?
