Monday Motivation Quote(s) of the Week

Fear is a most powerful, primal emotion, second only to love. It can motivate us, protect us, reveal us and paralyze us. On a night when many actually pursue frightening themselves and others,  a couple of inspirational thoughts on fear seems appropriate:

If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment. Marcus Aurelius

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt

Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy. Dale Carnegie

You can discover what your enemy fears most by observing the means he uses to frighten you.
Eric Hoffer

The
enemy is fear. We think it is hate; but, it is fear.
Gandhi

Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark, professionals built the Titanic.
Unknown

And under the "some things just can't be explained" category:

I don't know that there are real ghosts and goblins, but there are always more trick-or-treaters than neighborhood kids.
Robert Brault
